yesterday | 2019

Yesterday - directed by the great Danny Boyle and written by the genius Richard Curtis - is, without a doubt, "the feel-good movie" of the summer.

This film is a rom-com, as Richard Curtis is the best writer of this kind of stories (Notting Hill, Four Weddings and a Funeral, About Time or Love Actually), that recounters the story of Jack (Himesh Patel), an aspiring singer that cannot find the way to succeed, and Ellie (Lily James), his best friend, supporter, and manager that is secretly in love with him, even though everyone notices she is into him  except Jack.

As everyone in the world forgets who The Beatles are, Jack finds his opportunity to fulfill his dream of becoming a singer, but he will have to face the struggles of fame and its impact on her friendship with Ellie.

With this movie, you have the opportunity to listen to the great songs of The Beatles and watch this love story, with two actors that have great chemistry on screen. Also, there is a cameo of Ed Sheeran.

Totally recommended movie to watch if you love rom-coms and/or The Beatles and you want to finish and get out of the theatre with good vibes one of these days.

only god forgives | 2013

I saw this movie at the Sitges Film Festival. When the movie started you could feel Gosling's presence in the film as you do all the time that the movie lasts... but nothing more. Ryan Gosling's carachter 'Julian' seems like a ghost that sometimes can be violent and other times he stands up with everything, that her mother says. The movie stands between the violence and the colors, the feelings that the scenes produce on you. I think that the film is a metaphor of the things that happen in a kind of world that exists and where the only way of surviving is violence, but also your way of dying. Right know I can tell I made a good choice, 'cause this movie is different, it has something special Thanks to the Sitges Festival Organization for bringing this movie to Sitges!

the sound of music/sonrisas y lágrimas | 2014

Yesterday I had the pleasure of going to the theatre to see The Sound of Music (Sonrisas y lágrimas, el musical).  I was looking forward to see it since it came to Barcelona and yesterday I could finally see this amazing musical starring Silvia Luchetti which amazed me with her performance, the kids also were amazing and the rest of the cast too, especially Noemí Mazoy. It was at the Tivolí Theatre and even though it is not very big it was quite crowded. The love story was amazingly told by all the actors that danced and sang live and brought their best. The coreography was very remarkable and the feelings went out very soon. I would strongly reccomend seeing this musical because it is a story that never fails to disappoint you and in which you see the kindness and tenderness of its protagonist Maria and the transformation of Captain Von Trapp, who first is kind of insensible with his kids and finally becomes a loving and caring father. A play for all the families, bot...
